Yes, it is maybe a new for you and you think it’s too risk. But, author does this. Author has invested some money of children's education funds in stock and mutual funds. I have considered it that its fund will be saved for a long time (15 years) and i will use it when my child enters university (because now, my child age is 2 years). Generally, value of investment in stock and mutual funds will increase significantly in the future. So you can consider this form of investment. But remember, the funds that you want to invest are for long time and choose blue chip of stocks or mutual funds. Now is a good time to start because prices of stock or mutual funds are still cheap due to global economic crisis. Happy invested and good luck.
